Is it important to change the oil in my car?
Yes! Your oil needs to be clean and running smoothly through your car. Doing this regularily helps keep your engine clean and lubricated.
Much like the blood in your body the oil will collect debris from running. If you don’t change the oil in your car this debris will clog your vehicles system as cholesterol clogs the arteries.
Dirty oil will cause undo wear and tear on the other parts of your vehicle. Clean oil allows metal to press against metal without causing damage. Lubricating the pistons with clean oil when they move up and down in the cylinders will prevent your vehicles engine from seizing.

Doesn’t my oil filter clean the oil for me?
Yes & No. Your filter will clean the oil in your vehicle however not changing your oil will cause dirt to accumulate. Eventually the filter will fill up with debris causing the oil to flow through the relief valve. This dirty oil is now running through your engine causing havoc on the parts of your engine that will cost a lot more than a few bucks to have the oil changed.
When do I need to change my oil?
The general rule of thumb is every 5,000k or 3 months whichever comes first. This can vary however depending on the type of driving you do, the type of oil you chose. Check the owner’s manual for your vehicle to confirm the time or consult with your mechanic.
Does it matter what type of oil I use?
Yes! You can improve your gas mileage by using the recommended grade of oil. If you are using a 10W-30 when you are recommended to use a 5W-30 can lower gas mileage by 1% – 2%. Make sure you consult your Auto Technician about which oil is best for your vehicle.
